Beta USA has announced a new electric dirt bike into their Explorer model range, the Beta Explorer Hunter Edition aiming to be “great fun for trail riding, camping, hunting, or just working around the ranch”.

Beta USA’s Explorer was a bit of a hit when Enduro21 first brought news of it earlier in 2023. Promising simple and easy off-road riding from a bike designed to appeal to adult riders of all ages and experience levels and a pretty good looking one at that.

They’ve now added to that with the Explorer Hunter Edition is ideal for the sportsmen, they say, and “great fun for trail riding, camping, hunting, or just working around the ranch”.

The Explorer is roughly 30% smaller than a normal off-road motorcycle making it less intimidating and basically easy to live with. The bike has three speed options (casual, medium, and for a quick 10-second burst, Rocket mode) with the lowest offering a claimed range of 50-100 miles.

The medium setting offers roughly twice the speed and torque with a range between 30-60 miles. There is also an added reverse gear for backing up out of tight trails or roads.

The Explorer is like a dirt bike in every normal respect with adjustable front and rear suspension, hydraulic front and rear disc brakes are controlled by levers on the adjustable handlebars, high fenders and plenty of ground clearance for off-road riding.

There is storage space under the seat large enough to carry a water canteen and this Explorer edition includes a rear cargo rack.

Other features include a 74-volt battery that can be fully charged in “about two hours” in or out of the bike, so you can buy an additional battery and charge one battery while riding with a fresh one. Battery swaps take about three minutes they say.

Beta Explorer Hunter Edition models will be available at Beta USA dealers in January 2024 and can be shipped to your door (apologies rest of the world if your ears were pricked up but this bike is North America only!).
