Quick look: 2026 Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin and Adventure Sports model
New colours for all 2026 Africa Twin CRF1100L model range including the long-range CRF1100L Adventure Sports model.
Honda’s CRF1100L Africa Twin arrives in 2026 with updated graphics and colours, which the Japanese manufacturer says will bring further appeal to the enduringly popular adventure bike.
It’s a package that has already won legions of fans, with over 121,000 units bearing the ‘Africa Twin’ name sold since its reintroduction to the European market in 2016. For six of those years since its reintroduction, the Africa Twin has been in Honda’s top three selling models over 125cc.

Mechanically unchanged for 2026 model year, all the CRF1100L Africa Twin models retain their “athletic looks, with the aura and feel of a slim rally machine”, Honda says. The 1,084cc parallel twin cylinder engine produces peak torque of 112Nm with peak power of 75kW to offer performance both on and off-road.
All models also retain the option of Honda’s ever-evolving Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) – an option which they say was taken up by almost half of all Africa Twin customers in 2025 alone.
The original CRF1100L Africa Twin continues to be available in two variants – ‘Africa Twin’ and ‘Africa Twin Electronic Suspension’. As the names suggest, the differences are the suspension types: the standard model is equipped with fully adjustable Showa suspension, and the Electronic Suspension model using Showa’s Electronically Equipped Ride Adjustment (Showa EERATM), which adjusts damping in different riding conditions, and has the ability to change rear pre-load on the move.
The Electronic Suspension models also feature extended spec lists including heated grips and an ACC socket.

Africa Twin Adventure Sports models
Alongside the Africa Twin is the CRF1100L Africa Twin Adventure Sports option, which offers even longer range (508km against 385km) thanks to its 24.8 litre fuel tank, and a 19” front wheel that helps on-road handling (the standard model has a 21-inch front wheel).
Model updates for the long-distance ready CRF1100L Africa Twin Adventure Sports are also new colour and updated graphics.
Standard-fit on this model is Showa Electronically Equipped Ride Adjustment (Showa EERA™) suspension which is matched to a 19-inch front wheel, 110/80-19 tyre and 835/ 855mm seat height. The 1,084cc engine twin-cylinder engine is the same on both models but a full electronics package uses a six-axis Inertial Measurement Unit to manage HSTC, cornering ABS, Wheelie Control, Rear Lift Control and cornering detection functionality on the DCT version.
Practicality comes in the shape of multiple riding modes, standard fit cruise control, heated grips, USB port, ACC charger and full colour 6.5-inch TFT touchscreen incorporating Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Bluetooth connectivity.
Dual LED headlights feature Daytime Running Lights (DRL) and Cornering Lights. Four tailor-made Genuine Honda Accessory Packs – Urban, Rally, Travel and Adventure – are ready to create the perfect traveling partner.
