Acerbis has announced new K035 knee brace for enduro, motocross and enduro with “innovative” honeycomb design to distribute and absorb impact energy.

Legendary Italian manufacturer Acerbis say their K035 knee brace is “the new frontier in protection for motocross and enduro riders”.

Promising to be light but incredibly strong, they say the braces were created to guarantee maximum safety without compromising freedom of movement – just as you’d expect and hope from a knee brace.

“Its strength lies in its ability to effectively protect the knee from impact,” they say, “thanks to an intelligent structure and state-of-the-art materials.”

What is the innovation here? The outer shell has a honeycomb design and uses the geometry of the hexagonal cells to distribute and absorb impact energy and meaning they balance lightness and strength (830 grams in total, claimed).

The double articulated joint works with what Acerbis call a semi-rigid plastic material to naturally follow the movement of the knee and offer Level 2 certified protection without sacrificing comfort.

A perforated padding on the inside means stability on the leg and ventilation which makes the braces comfortable and effective even in the most extreme conditions.

Removable inserts are also supplied and they allow the fit of the kneepad to be adapted to the user’s leg, allowing precise size adjustment and stable fit.

Breathable neoprene straps keep the knee pads in place and promote the passage of air, Acerbis say, with adjustable elastic bands which allow the tension to be adjusted according to individual preferences for a secure and comfortable fit.

Acerbis complete the package with elastic socks/leg loops are best worn under the kneepad to eliminate chafing and irritation. Made of stretch fabric with a breathable rear insert, they combine comfort and ventilation in all conditions.

The K035 is unisex and available in one size (suitable for most riders) in grey, black and white, in combination with black elastic socks.
