Results, video and highlights from day two in Fafe, round five of the 2026 Enduro World Championship, where Josep Garcia was once again the fastest to strengthen his lead in EnduroGP and E1. Hamish Macdonald and Zach Pichon completed the podium.

Day 2 in a nutshell:

  • Little changed in terms of weather compared to yesterday: the same clear skies and the sun beating down from early in the morning on tests that were already badly broken after two weekends of enduro, which meant plenty of dust.
  • Today there was a man on a mission in the paddock and that was Josep Garcia. The KTM rider wanted another victory to strengthen his EnduroGP lead and that is exactly what he did, despite not feeling 100%.
  • Garcia leaves Portugal with a 34-point advantage over Verona in EnduroGP, a cushion that allows him to head into the second half of the season with a little more breathing room. It is the same story in Enduro1, where his advantage is now 43 points.
  • Hamish Macdonald delivered another great ride today, probably the best of his career, with second overall and victory in E2. The New Zealander is looking more and more comfortable on the Sherco 300 SEF and will be one of the riders to watch in the next three GPs.
  • Third overall, and second in E2, went to Zach Pichon, who was held back by a very costly run through the second Extreme Test and spent the rest of the day trying to recover time.
  • Two riders who will also not forget the Portugal 2 Extreme Test in a hurry are Steve Holcombe and Andrea Verona, who both crashed on different passes through the test, dropping them out of the fight for victory. Even so, Steve finished fourth overall and first in E3, while Verona rounded out the top five and the E2 podium.
  • In Junior, Alberto Elgari returned to the top step, with Leo Joyon close behind and Thibaut Giraudon in third, taking victory in the J2 subcategory.
  • Another Youth victory for Pietro Scardina strengthens his position as title favourite, with Valentin Mersin and Simone Cagnoni completing the podium.
  • Rachel Gutish had to settle for second place again today, 7.06s behind Shelby Turner, but the fact that she has wrapped up the World Championship title will surely have made that runner-up finish much easier to take. Rosie Rowett was third.
