“Brilliant results” in the 2022 EnduroGP World Championship season and ISDE sees Honda RedMoto team announce their first two riders for 2023 season, Nathan Watson and Thomas Oldrati.

Nathan Watson will again race the super-competitive E2 class on the RedMoto CRF450RX which he’s helped developed in this first season back full-time in the world championship.

It’s been quite a comeback for the British rider who helped Team GB achieve a historic victory at the ISDE in France, won foreigners class in Italian Enduro series and took GP wins on his way to fourth scratch and a narrow third in the E2 world title chase.

For the sixth consecutive year, Honda RedMoto has renewed contracts with the guy they now call a “veteran” Thomas Oldrati. The dependable Italian took second place in both the Enduro 1 world championship and the ISDE with Team Italy.

28-year-old Watson from Nottingham will race the 450 Honda in the FIM EnduroGP World Championship and the Assoluti d'Italia while 33-year-old Bergamo boy Oldrati will stick with the 250 four-stroke in E1 class.

Thomas Oldrati: “Matteo’s team is like a family. We continue to aim high, and we will be able to do so with the renewed Honda-RedMoto CRF 250RX Enduro. Continuity is fundamental to working on ourselves. The targets go up, and so does the competition, but I will continue to do my best.”

Honda RedMoto Racing Team Manager, Matteo Boffelli: “I am very happy to announce the renewal with Nathan and Thomas for 2023. It is important to give continuity to our team and to the Honda RedMoto project.

“We are a young, gritty, and determined team. In just a few years, our work has paid off with prestigious results. I would like to thank Egidio Motta, CEO of Honda-RedMoto, who has always supported us: the next goal is the podium and victory in every GP. I take this opportunity to thank all our sponsors and technical partners.”

The third, Junior rider in the RedMoto squad was later announced as Manolo Morettini, the 2022 ISDE Junior World Trophy winner with Team Italy. Part of Oldrati's veteran role in the squad will be to assist Manolo.

Supported riders make it a five-strong team

Strong end of season performances from Francesca Nocera will see her as a supported rider in Women’s classes. Previously the official Junior rider in the team, Roni Kytonen will reside under the same awning also as a RedMoto Racing supported rider.
