The Ballbreaker Extreme will spark the 2024 ACU British Extreme Enduro Championship into life this weekend with Jonny Walker, Will Hoare, Mitch and Ashton Brightmore, Jack Price and Dan Peace among the entry.

If the calibre of riders is anything to go by, the ACU British Extreme Enduro Championship is still the premier series in the UK, despite the Extreme or Hard Enduro scene there over-riding itself at the moment with seemingly more races than riders – although with so many of the best riders in the world coming from the UK, something must be working.

Run by Wayne Braybrook and his crew at RAW Enduro, the Ballbreaker Extreme is the start of this ’24 season held at their huge Hapton venue, close to Burnley in North England.

Hapton is a giant open, hillside (more like a mountain actually) with steep ravines, hillclimbs, rock streams, woods and a fairly epic scree section of rocks which could be the crucial section.

As ever, the programme includes two hour morning and the tougher, two hour afternoon race which ups the game with harder sections including this X Loop section up “Barney’s Rubble” as detailed here by race organiser Braybrook…
