ISDE Team France riders named for Argentina 2023
The French Federation has named their Trophy teams heading to the 2023 FIM International Six Days Enduro in Argentina with in-form EnduroGP riders in contention for trophies this November in San Juan.
It’s been a good week for the 2023 ISDE build-up with Great Britain naming all of their riders in the main trophy classes now followed by the French Federation releasing their choices for World, Junior and Women’s Trophy teams.
France have named a strong squad once again which should be challengers for the podiums at least with a list of GP riders and no shortage of experience. The Junior squad looks particularly solid and will certainly start as contenders for that trophy when we arrive in Argentina this November 6-11.
2023 French ISDE World Trophy team
Hugo Blanjoue
Loic Larrieu
Theo Espinasse
Zachary Pichon
We’re pretty sure neither of these four need introduction with Espinasse, Pichon and Blanjoue all racing in GPs and Larrieu a former world champion. Theo has been in great form through the summer EnduroGP rounds laterly. Pichon is the reigning Junior world champion, Junior outright winner at ISDE ’22 and took fifth scratch fastest time just ahead of Hugo Banjoue.
It feels mad to say that Loic is the “weakest” rider here but having retired from GP racing he is the least used to topflight racing this season. He is hugely experienced and has a decade or more of ISDEs under his belt including a winners medal plus world titles.
Junior World Trophy team
Antoine Alix
Leo Joyon
Thibault Giraudon
Having traded Youth class World Enduro Championship day wins at the last GP, Joyon and Giraudon are certainly in form riders right now. Youth 125 to Junior class at ISDE is a step but these three are a solid team. The only question might be if they stick with 125 2T bikes they are racing in the GPs, how they will then fair in the San Juan tests.
Women’s World Trophy team
Marine Lemoine
Justin Martel
Elodie Chaplot
This is the same trio of riders who took runner-up position last year on home soil, behind GB women but ahead of Australia and following Team USA losing their taliswoman Brandy Richards.
