ISDE 2022: Reigning champions Italy name their teams
The Italian Motorcycle Federation has announced the full line-up of riders who will compete in the 2022 FIM International Six Days of Enduro (ISDE) in Puy-en-Velay, France on August 29-September 3.
Reigning ISDE World Trophy holders Italy have named their main teams ahead of this year’s ‘Olympics of enduro’ in France. Speed, experience and some new faces are drafted in as the boys in blue take on a different look compared to 12 months ago when they were victorious on home soil in both the World Trophy and Junior Trophy contest.
World Championship points leader and scratch runner-up last year, Andrea Verona must surely be the talisman and he has very experienced hands of Thomas Oldrati and Alex Salvini to stand alongside with Samuele Bernadini stepping up to the plate.
But the team has some notable absentees including former gold medallists Matteo Cavallo and Davide Guarneri plus Junior winners from 2021 Lorenzo Macoritto and Matteo Pavoni. Macoritto and Guarneri are both injured and Enduro21 understands TM Racing will not officially be at the ISDE this year which rules Cavallo and Pavoni out at least.
Experience will count this year though as a rule change means all riders matter right to the last flag on day six, so reliability is key again. Plus different classes are no longer obligatory meaning riders can rock up on their preferred bike capacity and configuration.
Italian Motorcycle Federation Technical Commissioner, Cristian Rossi has named the following teams:

Samuele Bernardini, Honda, E1
