1000 Dunes Rally – “Safest desert race in the world” announces 2021 dates
The self-proclaimed “safest motorcycle rally in the world”, the 1000 Dunes has announced November 27 to December 4, 2021 dates for the third running of the desert rally open to all-comers.
Leaving Granada on November 27 and return to the same Andalusian city, on December 4, the relative fledgling rally raid 100 Dunas trades on its attraction for a levels of riders. The event begins and end sin Granada in Southern Spain and travels to the dunes of Merzouga for the bulk of the competition before returning to Andalucia.
The brains behind the ‘1000 Dunas’ is former Dakar racer Miguel Puertas who says after last year’s sporting hiatus, this third edition “is expected to be their best edition yet.”
Puertas announced the official sponsor this year will be Triumph who continue to make inroads off-road following an announcement they will manufacturer enduro and motocross models.

The 1000 Dunes Rally Raid has been proud to call itself “the safest motorcycle adventure in the world” sicne the first edition in 2018 thanks to a race design for motorcycles in which navigation is valued (via Roadbook or GPS) and the importance avoiding the high average speeds frequent in other events.
It is also open to all levels of riders with different classes for rally, enduro and adventure bikes and for everyone from those who have just started in the world of rally raid to experts who seek to improve their navigation.
