Event organisers making plans for racing later in 2020 include the Panafrica Rally team who have set September 26 to October 3 dates for the event in Merzouga (Morocco).

Panafrica Rally will run in the desert of Erg Chebi (Morocco) for the seven days racing with a permanent bivouac in the middle of the desert, the Nomad Palace Hotel, to make logistics and expenses as minimal and fixed as possible. The looped daily stages will have a maximum distance between refuelling points of 150 km.

The roadbooks will be the same as the approved by the FIM with indications no longer in French but English – an action which the organization has adopted to make the playing field level for all competitors.

If the competition or the roadbook is not for you but you want to participate in a rally, KTM Morocco has created KTM Adventure Challenge category. The rally organisers say the class is non-competitive with GPS navigation for maxi-trail, dual-sport, enduro, SSV and quads and gives an opportunity to take part and live a rally experience without stress.

Coronavirus consideration

The organization has drawn up a cancellation plan for all racers or those whose family members are affected with the Covid-19 up to 15 days before the event.
