Fantic Factory Rally Team have announced Spanish rider Sandra Gomez as a factory rider for the 2024 Rallye du Maroc and the 2025 Dakar Rally.

As an ISDE, Trial, SuperEnduro and XGames winner, plus leading female racer in the Hard Enduro World Championship, Sandra Gomez should need little introduction to Enduro21 readers.

The Spanish off-road all-rounder can also count on rally-raid in her impressive list of competition boxes ticked having previously competed in the Dakar three times.

Fantic Factory Rally Team have just announced the 31-year-old Spaniard will debut on the Fantic XEF 450 Rally at the 2024 Rallye du Maroc, scheduled from October 4-11 in preparation for the 2025 Dakar next January 3-17.

“I am so excited to become part of this big family,” says Sandra. “It is also great that Fantic continues to believe in and support the women’s category. They have achieved fantastic results with Jane, which is an extra motivation for me to keep up that good work.

“I have already had a chance to test the Fantic for the first time, and I was pleasantly surprised – the bike feels really easy to ride. Of course, it is new to me and I will need to adapt, but my first impression was very positive. I like it and I can’t wait to ride it in the desert to see what we can achieve. I am looking forward to getting back into action at the rallies. Racing in Morocco is definitely the best way to prepare for the biggest rally of them all, the Dakar. I want to thank Fantic for this amazing opportunity. I will give it my all!”

At the 2024 Dakar, Fantic completed the world’s most famous rally with three bikes reaching the finish line and a winning result in the women’s category thanks to Jane Daniels, who also received the “Dakar Spirit” award and remains closely linked to Fantic as a Brand Ambassador.

Mariano Roman, Fantic Motor Vice President:“It is a great pleasure for us to welcome Sandra Gomez to our family. We share a huge passion for motorcycling, and just like Fantic, Sandra excels in multiple disciplines. We are eager to work with her and are confident that she is the right rider to aim for the same remarkable feat that our Jane achieved earlier this year.”

Matilde Tomagnini, Fantic Motor Business Development Manager: “I am very happy to have Sandra on our team for the Rallye du Maroc and the Dakar. I have already had the chance to see her in action on our bike, and the first impression was really positive. She is fast and there is an amazing feeling, so I am confident that together we will reach great results. Building on the success we have achieved with Jane, we aim to confirm our position at the top of the women’s category.”
