KTM discontinues distribution of CFMOTO in (most of) Europe to focus on their own bikes – joint production in China remains unaffected.

Let’s face it, KTM distributing another brand motorcycles which proved hugely successful in the showrooms always seemed like a conflict of interest, despite the associated benefits of cheaper, shared production costs in China.

But following the financial turmoil and subsequent restructuring programme, KTM and its long-standing partner CFMOTO have agreed to discontinue the distribution responsibility for CFMOTO and ZEEHO in major European markets of Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and Spain effective May 31, 2025.

This was an agreement which stretches back to 2022: PIERER Mobility AG to distribute Chinese manufacturer CFMOTO motorcycles in Europe

In a press release today, April 22, KTM explain: “The past few weeks have been marked by significant changes within the KTM Group. The company will focus entirely on the realignment of its own brands in order to effectively pursue its strategic goals.”

Until May 31, CFMOTO Motorcycles Distribution GmbH, a wholly owned subsidiary of KTM AG, will remain the contact for all dealers within the sales region. Starting June 1, 2025, a new and as yet unnamed importers will assume responsibility for CFMOTO.

KTM add this decision was mutually agreed between both companies and applies exclusively to the distribution agreement described above.

Existing cooperations, in particular joint production in China, remain unaffected, as does the distribution of KTM motorcycles in China by CFMOTO.
