First look at the 2024 KTM SX Motocross two-stroke and four-stroke model range which sees updated graphics and suspension following the complete revamp in ’23.

Following big updates to KTM’s SX range in 2023 (engine, chassis and electronics – you can read more about that in our test here: Tested: 2023 KTM SX-F range – riding impressions and clues to the ’24 enduro range), Enduro21 wasn’t expecting much “new” from the ’24  orange bikes without lights.

Reworked suspension settings and a fresh new look is the long and the short of it with a development in the WP stock kit to help cornering handling.

The press info doesn’t speak about any changes to the WP XACT rear shock but the 48mm WP XACT front forks have “improved bottoming-out resistance, and damping, and allows the fork to stay lower and more planted on initial acceleration after a hard landing”.

New graphics, like last year, take inspiration from the early 1990s with purple again featuring as a highlight colour alongside the orange and white tones still dominate the overall look.

The ‘23 SX range introduced a completely redesigned chassis built around a hydro-formed, laser-cut, and robot-welded frame, a two-piece polyamide reinforced aluminium subframe, and a hollow, die-cast aluminium swingarm.

Sleeker, slimmer, and engineered to “provide riders with unmatched levels of control” they told us and it proved true – we’re expecting more of the same improvements to the EXC enduro range to be announced in the near future.
