First look at the new, 2026 KTM 890 Adventure R Rally a bike “built to conquer” and drawing direct inspiration from the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing rally bikes in their looks and with WP Pro Components suspension.

While the KTM 890 Adventure R can stand up for itself already when it comes to adventure travel anyone who’s tried to take the extra step and push it in real off-road competition knows it needs a little extra protein.

The KTM 890 Adventure R Rally is for “riders who demand factory-level suspension, rally-spec ergonomics and uncompromising hardware straight from the showroom”, KTM say pointing straight to the meaningful upgrades this bike has over the standard model.

Worth pointing out at this point that the 890 R Rally model has been around for a few years now and the upgrades for this 2026 model are the same as previous model years.  

What is different (over the standard Adventure R) derived directly from WP Factory Racing competition programmes, the WP PRO Components suspension fitted to this bike brings genuine race technology (read not adapted road/street kit).

The R Rally stands on WP XPLOR PRO fork with Cone Valve technology and a WP XPLOR PRO shock absorber to bring 270mm of travel and improved damping performance.

The upgrade means improved front-end confidence, better bottoming resistance for harder landings and a planted, controlled feel at speed.

The rider comfort remains paramount, they say, whether you’re racing the Adv class in Red Bull Romaniacs of travelling across the globe, loaded with luggage or a pillion.

The 2026 model uses the same 889cc parallel twin engine producing 106PS and 100Nm of torque at a claimed 6500 rpm.

It also features the electronics “further extend” the bike’s rally focus, with Offroad ABS and ride modes including Rally Mode, Traction Control and Motor Slip Regulation allowing riders to fine-tune performance on the fly via the five-inch TFT display with Connectivity Unit and Turn-by-Turn+ navigation.

Visually, the 2026 edition wears a new Red Bull KTM Factory Racing-inspired design and Akrapovic Slip-on Line exhaust which they say should echo past Dakar-winning machines.

Adding further confidence to any potential customers is KTM’s premium manufacturer’s warranty free with this model which means up to four years of coverage and long-term assurance.

This special edition Adventure machine is available for £19,299/€21,799 (price not currently known in Dollars) and will arrive in authorised KTM dealers in extremely limited quantities in April (previous years that has been around the 700 mark which have all sold out quickly).
