First look: Alpinestars Tech 7 Enduro Drystar Waterproof Boots
First look at the new Alpinestars waterproof Tech 7 Enduro Drystar boots, tested on the trail for off-road and adventure travel riding.
Purpose-built for riders who routinely tackle wet trails, river crossings, puddles, mud, and prolonged rain, the Alpinestars Tech 7 Enduro Drystar boots should hit home with many Enduro21 readers.
Their key difference to the already established Tech 7 Enduro boot range is the Drystar membrane integrated into the inner liner, which they explain is fully waterproof while maintain high breathability, and long-term durability.
Enduro21 hasn‘t tested these new Drystar Tech 7s yet, though we have plenty of experience in the standard model and confirm their protection and comfort game is high on the scale.
The aim of their game is to keep feet dry and comfortable through extended enduro rides but deliver the key ingredients of grip, protection, and comfort. Alpinestars say they have done that and revised the design on the latest generation Tech 7 Enduro now with its own enduro-specific fit with a slightly lower toe angle for a more comfortable ride.

Tech 7 Enduro Drystar Technical Features:
- Drystar Technology Integrated Into Inner Liner — 100% waterproof with high breathability and lasting durability.
- Enduro-Specific Dual Compound Sole: Integrated into a reinforced, multi-density footbed, the sole provides reliable grip on wet ground, rocks, and trail surfaces, while maintaining durability under repeated impacts and dismounts.
- Extensive TPU Protection: Reinforced areas on toes, foot, heel, ankle, calf, and shin, with extra durable compounds on the toe box and heel for maximum impact resistance.
- Wear Limit Indicator Sole: Alerts riders when the sole is worn out and requires replacement.
- Medial and Lateral Dual Pivot System: positioned to improve flexibility and precise control - allows controlled ankle movement while limiting excessive torsion, supporting stability without restricting mobility.
- High-Strength Buckle System: Polymer buckles mounted on a high-impact aluminium frame for durability and weight savings, features a quick-release locking system with a self-aligning design for secure, fast closure.
- Soft Ankle Reinforcements: For lasting comfort and shock absorption.
- Progressive Front Flexion Design: Featuring shock-absorbing inserts in the front bellow to manage impact loads during aggressive riding and repeated compressions.

Reimann rated
Australian off-road adventure rider Adam Reimann has been testing the Tech 7 Enduro Boots in real-world riding conditions and shares his feedback:
“I’ve been wearing the Tech 7 Enduro Boots for a few months now. My riding background is enduro, and the boot has got the perfect shape, rigidity, and feel. It goes without saying that it's protecting me, but what I like about it the most is just the comfort.
“With the kind of riding I do—whether it’s trail riding or travelling on a bike off-road—I can be in the boots from sunrise to sunset. Comfort really matters, especially when you’re off the bike, walking around camp or getting fuel. You actually need to be able to walk in the boots, and they are just the most comfortable pair of shoes you've ever worn.
“What impressed me is the design and how the boot is engineered to provide comfort—there’s no pressure on any one part of your foot, just uniform, even comfort from your toe through to your shin. That’s something I really notice over long days. There’s nothing I can fault about the Tech 7 Enduro Boots. They look really good too—just typical Alpinestars.”
