Enduro21 takes a ‘quick look’ at the Acerbis Water Satuh backpack, a multi-functional trail pack ready for Enduro, Trail, Adventure and MTB riding.

Italian off-road specialists Acerbis have a range of bags and packs designed for riding. They can claim to be among the originators (certainly one of the best) in creating a proper, old school enduro bumbag as used by so many of us all over the world for decades.

A lot of that expertise is wrapped in the design of the ‘Water Satuh’ backpack. The tick list includes elasticated and adjustable cross-over type harness system, a decent 2.5 litre drinks bladder, separate accommodation for a phone plus a really handy tool roll.

Acerbis Water Satuh backpack technical highlights:

  • Nine litre total capacity
  • Water bag capacity: 2.5 litres
  • Water bag is removeable, easy to clean and refill through large cap
  • Drink hose with adjustable opening and closing valve
  • Rubber coated fabric for easy cleaning and increased water resistance
  • Removable tool pocket and large utensils holder
  • Internal elastic net pocket for storage and/or smartphone
  • Uses an "X" closure system with central quick release button on the chest and
  • Four point Velcro adjustments with elasticated sections allows body movement and breathing but eliminates bag bounce while distributing pressure evenly the shoulder straps
  • Breathable fabric in back contact area

First impressions as Enduro21 pulled this Satuh pack out the box are good. There are different schools of thought about amounts to carry in a drinks bladder but 2.5 litres is about right – not too much to be heavy and bulky in a riding pack, not too little so you’ll run dry quickly.

The bladder is easily accessible via the draw across and down main zip and has a large screw cap for easy refills.

The design is functional and this should make a good trail pack, partly thanks to the inclusion of a tool roll inside the front pocket. The tool roll can take a decent amount of tools (we packed in half a dozen or so, see image) and promises to work well for Enduro, MTB, Trail or Adventure riding. That separate mesh pocket for phones inside the main compartment keeps tools and phone separate also.

We’ve got this one on our backs for the next few rides and events. We’ll let you know how we get on with it.
