Results from rounds five and six of the 2023 ACU British Enduro Championship on the Isle Of Man where Manxmen Jed Etchells and Danny McCanney duked it out for the wins.

Ramsey Motorcycle Club laid on dry mixture of sandy beach and forest conditions treating riders sailing across the Irish sea for rounds five and six of this year’s British Enduro Championship. Ships sailed in from the east and west but it was two local boys who duked it out for the win on home soil.

2023 EnduroGP Junior points leader Jed Etchells put the Fantic Racing factory machine on top of the box on day one, making the most of a fast start to the day to pull the win by 20 seconds after seven tests.

Danny McCanney was slower out the blocks on his Beta UK weapon and spent the day chasing down the gap but had to settle for P2 ahead of Max Ingham fighting for a flying third place.

The tables were reversed on day two with McCanney taking the first two of six tests and carrying the lead through to the finish 14 seconds ahead of Etchells. Ingham was again third wringing the neck out the Yamaha 250F in the sandy tests.

Jordan Scott had his best-ever weekend in the BEC series with a 4-5 scorecard, battling with Tom Sagar to complete the top five. That put the Northern Irishman ahead of EnduroGP Youth World Champion Harry Edmondson sixth with Josh Gotts, Aaron Gordon, Frazer Norrie and Lee Sealey completing the top 10.

Championship heading to final showdown this weekend (September 16-17)

Overall the 2023 BEC points table now swings towards Jed Etchells who heads to the final two racing days at Catterick this coming weekend with 103 points to McCanney’s 99.

With things still uncertain regarding the fitness of former runaway points leader Brad Freeman (on 80 points), rounds seven and eight will be a close-run thing between the Manxmen.
