2026 EnduroGP of Italy Results: Garcia Starts ’26 with Super Test Win
2026 EnduroGP World Championship Friday Super Test results: Red Bull KTM’s reigning champion Josep garcia goes fastest ahead of Sherco’s Antoine Magain and Andrea Verona.
EnduroGP Rnd 1, Italy Friday Super Test in a nutshell:
Tonight’s Super Test sparked the 2026 EnduroGP World Championship season into action under sparkling Sicilian sunshine. Set in the marble quarry which will house the Extreme Test across the weekend (with a different layout), the dual-lane looping course was hard-packed, dry and littered with rocks ready to catch front wheels. It was tricky and caught riders out, notably Brad Freeman and Axel Semb.
As ever, the Super Test ran in reverse order, meaning the Enduro Women were first out and the seeded seniors concluded proceedings, with last year’s numbers one and two, KTM teammates Josep Garcia and Andrea Verona, last of all.
Enduro Women
Enduro Women world champion Rachael Gutish began where she left off last season with a comfortably fastest time in class. Hottest on her heels were the Junior Women, Lorna Lafont and Elizabeth Tett, who relegated the more senior and experienced EW riders down the order.
Youth 125
Team Pro Racing Sport, the Italian KTM squad under the wing of the Farioli team who run Red Bull KTM, have a very good track record in Junior and Youth categories. Gabin Allemand is their latest recruit and the Frenchman topped the class on the sweet KTM 125. Allemand finished less than half a second faster than compatriot Valentin Mersin, new recruit in the Specia Fantic Racing team, and another fresh rider in the WP Eric Augé KTM team, Spaniard Yago Dominguez.
Juniors
French riders topped the Junior category, with one of the title favourites, Romain Dagna, clocking in half a second faster onboard the Pro Racing Sport KTM ahead of French compatriot Marc Rossi in the Honda RedMoto squad. New official Triumph Racing rider Leo Joyon was third fastest, holding off the many marauding Italians in this class.
EGP classes
Another rider making a comeback from double knee surgery – both knees at once! – Matteo Cavallo set a flying lap early as the senior riders hit the track. Another rider a little down the order (due to his result in 2025), Steve Holcombe clocked his Sherco narrowly behind the TM rider as times tightened at the sharp end of the Super Test.
French duo Theo Espinasse and Julien Roussaly both also snuck into the 2:07s, with Espinasse showing he’s gelled with the fuel-injected Fantic 300 two-stroke.
Belgian, Antoine Magain, ripped a 2:05.7 on the 250 2T Sherco to jump ahead of everyone, including yet another Frenchman, Zach Pichon (TM Moto) on 2:06.1. Andrea Verona slotted in between them on 2:06.04 on his KTM debut.
And what do you know, that man did it again. Josep Garcia begins his 2026 campaign in the best possible way with a Super Test win, almost a second quicker than Magain with a stellar 2:04.98.
As ever, this is just the first test of the weekend, which promises four laps of three tests each day for the main classes. All is to play for. Check the video highlights in our seperate story: 2026 EnduroGP Italy: Super Test Video Highlights
