British Extreme Enduro: Lettenbichler, Brightmore and Walker headline Wild Willy’s
The relentless 2024 British Extreme Enduro Championship continues at Wild Willy’s Extreme, round three this weekend – Mani Lettenbichler is back for more with Jonny Walker and points leader Mitch Brightmore for a mudfest at Tong.
Occupying a traditional position as one of the wettest, muddiest yet most popular with spectators, the Parkwood Off Road venue at Tong (and British weather) is promising another classic round of the British Extreme enduro Championship this weekend.
Hard Enduro World Champion Mani Lettenbichler is back for more British mud and headlines Pro rider line-up who’ll be greeted we expect by the usual impressive crowds lining the main track. The dirt is different but the venue and the atmosphere is not unlike his home HEWC round at Getzen.
The track itself has undergone more build and design changes by Will Hoare and his team at Parkwood Off Road. The course traditionally mixes flowing enduro section with some tricky climbs and infamous rock sections which make for spectacular viewing.
Winner of round one, runner-up at round two, Mitch Brightmore leads the British series so far this year ahead of Jonny Walker. The pair, along with Lettenbichler and Ash Brightmore, are contrasting the SuperEnduro World Championship one weekend for the slog in the mud the next.
Brightmore and Walker have run each other close at each round so far this season and, along with the stacked field of UK hard enduro talent in the PM race, it’ll be a certified good one to watch live if you can make it.
One rider who won’t be riding is Billy Bolt due to an ongoing knee injury and saving himself for the indoor title race. He’s expected to be there though and will trade places with his mechanic Lee Edmondson.
Racing runs all day Sunday with morning action from 9:30am and afternoon races for expert and pro riders from 1pm. Tickets a very reasonable £10 for adults, £5 for under 16s and Under 5s go free. Bring your wellies and rain coat…
