“Iconic OG of British Extreme Enduro” Nantmawr Quarry delivered the 2026 Tough One’s Dead ‘Ard Cuz where young British talent Bert Boam took the win.

A hard enduro course “designed and planned to be a race, not a bottle neck-fest or a kettle boiler” was a recipe for the 2026 Tough One’s Dead ‘Ard Cuz. The extreme event, held at the same iconic venue as the infamous Tough One was for so many years, featured a mix of rock garden and technical climbs and a 2.5 hour race time.

Winner of this year’s race was Bert Boam on a GASGAS. One of the emerging young British riders right now also showcasing themselves in SuperEnduro, Boam follows in the footsteps of David Knight, Graham Jarvis, Jonny Walker and the last Tough One winner in this venue, Billy Bolt.

Charlie Frost was the early leader for more than half the race but Boam was catching little by little before a pass in the top quarry rock section to go on and take the overall.

An early mechanical problem for Jack Spencer on the first lap saw the Beta rider fixing his carb before rejoining and working hard to finally take second place overall, albeit a lap down on Boam.

Ben Tennant riding in Nantmawr for the first time made it two Betas on the podium with third overall.
