Results feed from day five of the 2019 International Six days Enduro, Portugal where Josep Garcia mastered the conditions to win the day scratch and Team USA hold steady in the World Trophy class.
Day five of ISDE 2019 in a nutshell:
  • Overnight rain spelled very slick conditions on today’s opening tests mixing up the results sheets big time.
  • Team USA World Trophy riders as a group faltered (a little) in those early conditions meaning the Oz Trophy team clawed some time back but Kailub Russell, Taylor Robert and Ryan Sipes turned the tables to finish the day over two minutes clear. Italy remain third, 11 minutes down.
  • Josep Garcia finally got everything right and nailed an overall scratch win, halting Daniel Sanders’ run of four days on the bounce.
  • The Australian Junior Trophy squad nailed another solid day and sit eight minutes ahead of the USA – Spain now sit third but 27 minutes down...
  • ...largely because a notable non-starter this morning was Junior World Trophy rider Andrea Verona who's TM would not fire up (these tests are proving brutal on the bikes). That puts the Italian Juniors out of the event.
  • Alex Snow was another non-starter which leaves Danny McCanney as the only remaining Team GB World Trophy rider standing.
  • Matthew Phillips crashed out of test seven today. A trip to the medics showed nothing serious but Phillips goes out of the event for Team Australia.
  • Brandy Richards stole the Women’s class today by a healthy margin helping Team USA's Trophy team to a gap of 8m35s over Germany with Team GB a clear third. They look to have this one sewn-up.
  • Spain's WWT team were yet another team dealt a blow when Sandra Gomez retired after test five with bike issues. Mireia Badia and Aida Castro continue in P5 overall.
