Steward Baylor made his return to racing after flipping a coin to decide whether to buy a Kawasaki KX450 and head to NEPG round four with just 15 minutes practice.

Since parting company with FactoryONE Sherco immediately after delivering the French manufacturer its first-ever GNCC podium, the four-time National Enduro champion and elder Baylor brother has been on the sidelines and without a paid ride.

In recent weeks Stew has put out a few hints and videos on social media that have shown him back out riding in the woods on different bikes including a 450 Husqvarna.

But at the Little Raccoon NEPG Baylor finally got back between the timing beams after “flipping a coin” to decide on Friday whether to buy a stock KX450 and go race on Sunday. With tweaked suspension, a spark arrestor, 18-inch wheel and little else, Steward pulled off P2 and showed he’d lost very little in the lay-off. Baylor says he purchased the new Kawasaki KX450 on Friday before the race and put just 15 minutes on the bike before lining up to race in Ohio.

Steward says his plan is to race different manufacturer's bikes before making a decision on a team for 2021.
