Rieju Factory Enduro team announce exit of Alfredo Gomez and signing of TrialGP star and AMA Trial Champion Toby Martyn for Hard Enduro and SuperEnduro World Championships.

XTrial and AMA Trial Championships wrapped-up, trial world championship career wrapped up, Toby Martyn wasted no time in making his next move as the British rider is announced with Rieju Factory Enduro Team for 2025 seasons.

It’s been a big few weeks for the Spanish manufacturer Rieju as Alfredo Gomez will move on to new pastures following a two-year stint which included development of their enduro bikes – more on that below. Our understanding is that also means Will Hoare is also no longer part of the factory team.

Taking the benefits of Alfredo’s (and Dominik Olszowy, the Polish enduro rider based in Spain) development on the new fuel injected MR300i model, Martyn is expected to race in the SuperEnduro World Championship and Hard Enduro World Championship, as well as selected other international and national races.

Enduro21 readers might not be so familiar with Martyn but be in no doubt he is a talent on a bike having taken the Junior World title plus competed consistently at the highest level in Trial GP measuring squarely up to the likes of Toni Bou, indoors and out.

Toby made a debut on an enduro bike earlier in the ’24 season with a ride at Billy Bolt’s Red Bull Tyne Ride, impressing with his skills on the 4T Honda CRF 250 R.

Adios Alfredo

After completing the 2024 Hixpania Hard Enduro, the final round of the Hard Enduro World Championship, Alfredo Gomez has also finished his two years as racer and development rider for Rieju.

Alongside racing the Hard Enduro World Championship, Alfredo’s role has been in development of the enduro models and specifically a huge volume of effort put into their newly announced fuel injected two-stroke MR300i model.

Developing the model behind the scenes but also at major races such as Erzbergrodeo, Gomez brought a wealth of experience to the model development, just as he had previously for KTM in fact with the TPI fuel injected engines.

The TBI (throttle body injection) Rieju MR300i is now a finished project and will go on sale soon.

Rieju are yet to confirm their full rider line-up for the SuperEnduro, EnduroGP and Hard Enduro World Championship seasons ahead.
