One of the most well-known figures in off-road motorcycling, “Fast Eddy” will head up the factory enduro programme worldwide having worked closely with Triumph on a variety of projects, including the development of the TF 250-X machine for off-road competition and of course doubling for James Bond as a stunt rider.

“To officially be part of the Triumph Racing Factory Team for enduro, is another huge milestone in my career, and to say I’m excited and motivated is an understatement!” Says Edmondson.

“The team and I can now really begin the hard work to achieve the best results possible. Having worked with Triumph for a number of years already on some cool projects, I know that we have a bright future in enduro, and to be racing across three championships is really exciting.”

Who are the Triumph Racing Enduro Team riders (we hear you shouting)?

Wouldn’t we all like to know. This is great news for the sport of enduro of course with a new manufacturer entering at the highest level. From our conversations with Paul the bike is certainly up to scratch and that makes this an attractive proposition for any rider.

It would be smart to assume some of the existing Fast Eddy Racing team riders might find a berth on the new bikes with Jamie McCanney a strong candidate.

Finding Triumph have committed to the EnduroCross and SuperEnduro championships adds a truck load of fuel to the fire that Jonny Walker will be the first major announcement.

Enduro21 stresses nothing is official and we might be wrong but Walker on a Triumph feels like the best fitting glove anyone ever put on a hand.

Having parted ways with his previous manufacturer in the summer, Walker is also a free agent currently. Enduro21 caught up with Jonny recently and he was tight-lipped about his plans but we’re guessing his quest for a factory team to compete at the level he is riding right now might be over.

Paul Edmondson has been the strongest candidate for this role from the start and has certainly put in the hours to get to this position.

Playing a leading role in development of the enduro models, Fast Eddy has also been running his own team at world championship level for a couple of seasons achieving podiums with Jamie McCanney during 2024 and spawning two kids, Jack and Harry, who have both won Youth 125 world championships.

Ian Kimber – Head of Global Racing Programmes, Triumph Motorcycles adds: “Much like our MX2 and SMX Programmes, it was critical for enduro that we worked with a team manager who completely understands what we are trying to achieve and what it takes to get there. Having worked with Paul in the past on numerous projects, including James Bond and our MX and Enduro OE development, we couldn’t think of anyone better to head up our newest team.

“Paul has a rich history in the sport, knowledge of what it takes to be a champion, a proven record of building riders and putting those riders on the box. This, combined with an understanding of working with Triumph, means he is ideally placed to run our Triumph Racing Factory Team in the SuperEnduro, EnduroGP and EnduroCross championships.”

The enduro model of Triumph’s 250 four-stroke is yet to be officially announced but it is also imminent. Jack Edmondson has also been racing his own Triumph 250-X in sprint enduros this year – Enduro21 caught up with Jack and got some low-down on his bike at the EnduroGP round six in the summer.
