SEER Racing landed on Hale Mountain in Alabama for the third round of their 2021 Hard Enduro series and the Nightmare Extreme which had an added twist this season, half the race ran in the dark – Ryder LeBlond takes the win.

After its inaugural year in 2020, South East Extreme Rider’s track director Derek Bratcher reversed the course direction for this year’s Nightmare Extreme and added plenty of new, challenging sections for good measure.

SEER’s standard race format is three hours of race time with multiple checks. This time there were three splits where Gold and Silver riders stayed on the main course while Bronze and Iron riders continued with scaled down sections.

The start of the race was on top of a hill with a LeMans style dash to the bikes. The course itself was pretty dry with some wet spots in the creeks but overall the different classes were able to complete multiple laps in good conditions – after a hurricane passed the event in 2020 it was a relief for the organisers.

LeBlond takes the win

The current SEER championship leader Ryder LeBlond, secured another spot on the top of the podium at the Nightmare Extreme. Ryder had Sherco USA’s 2020 SEER champ Nick Fahringer keeping him honest but in the end the winning margin was four minutes. The leading pair were the only to complete five laps and 10 checks with Quinn Wentzel podium on third a lap down.
