2023 EnduroGP championship standings (after Rnd6): 1 GP to go, who’s where in the points?
2023 EnduroGP championship standings for all classes after round six in Valpacos and with one round remaining this coming weekend in St-Andre/Santiago do Cacem – who’s wrapping things up on Saturday and which are going to the wire?
Want to see who’s got the clearest advantage over tehir rivals and who’s got everything still to play for as we head further south in Portugal for the final round of the 2023 FIM World Enduro Championship?
Assuming everyone stays fit and riders true to form, champions who could be crowned on day one, Saturday are: Josep Garcia in E1, Steve Holcombe E2, Brad Freeman E3, Jed Etchells in Junior 1, Albin Norrbin J2 (both are vying for the scratch Junior title which will go down to the final day), Kevin Cristino in Youth 125 class and Jane Daniels in Women’s Enduro. Plus the less shouted about but still important to the teams Manufacturers award which Beta lead.
In most cases above it requires a win, claiming 20 points, and put things out of reach of second placed rider even if they win the final day and the points leader DNFs.
It is of course mathematically possible that all could be wrapped up on day one but it would require rivals to retire and not score. For whatever reason, we don’t wish that and want to see these titles decided on a level playing field.
The headline act of course is the main EnduroGP World Championship which sees Steve Holcombe on 196 to Andrea Verona’s 177 and with a double win this last weekend, Josep Garcia is in with a shout still on 170.
A lot of the individual classes are all but nailed on baring mistakes though with Jane Daniels the most likely given her 100% winning record for the season. That’s not to mention some fiercely close fights for the podium spots across different classes too – notably in E1 and scratch Juniors.
Saturday night could be a busy one in the paddock as a potential eight titles are wrapped up leaving just the main EnduroGP championship and Junior championships for Sunday.
