Greece hosts round four of 2019 EnduroGP World Championship this weekend with Brad Freeman sitting on top of the points ahead of Steve Holcombe. 
 

The EnduroGP World Championship travels all the way east to Serres, Greece, for its fourth round where the battle between Brad Freeman and Steve Holcombe, eager to get that red plate back on his Beta, will continue. 

Danny McCanney will be one of the many riders aiming at the Beta duo. The Manxman has been on top form all season on the TM 300 two-stroke – on day two at the Spanish GP it was he and Freeman fighting for the overall. He was finally runner-up but not before stealing some test wins.

Freeman king of the E1 

Undefeated to date in the E1 this season, Brad Freeman will be looking to continue his dominance at the fourth round of the championship. However, the Italian armada of Thomas Oldrati, Davide Guarneri and Matteo Cavallo are getting stronger as the season goes on and they will be looking for the chance to end the Brits reign. 

Salvini tops of the E2 class

After two second places at the previous round, Alex Salvini´s standing at the top of the E2 championship doesn’t look quite as permanent. After sharing wins in Spain, Loïc Larrieu and Giacomo Redondi have a taste for victory. The flying Finn, Eero Remes, hasn´t been at his very best this season but he is always a serious threat. 

Christophe Charlier is another contender for a top place finish, revitalised on the RedMoto Honda. The French rider hasn´t stepped on the podium yet this season but after two four place finishes in Spain he will want to step up in Greece. 

McCanney eager to take that top spot from Holcombe 

Steve Holcombe remained unchallenged at the top of E3 since the third round of 2018 but Jamie McCanney broke his record at the second day in Spain. Not feeling at his best, Holcombe couldn´t resist McCanney´s attack in Spain and conceded the first place to the TM rider. 

McCanney will be back this weekend wanting to top the E3 class once more as well as gunning for the overall win. On the other side the Brit will be hoping to feel at his best again and show everyone why he has been king of enduro the last three seasons. 

Verona and Francisco topping the Juniors

Another rider who is unchallenged at the top of his class is Andrea Verona. Having won every round to date in the Juniors, the Italian is the rider to watch at the fourth round. Enric Francisco, Jack Edmondson and Theo Espinasse are getting closer to Verona though and each has shown good form in recent weeks at their respective domestic championships.

Wil Ruprecht will also want to leave his fifth and DNF scores from the Spanish round behind and get back to his earl season form challenging the Verona´s dominance.

The TM rider, Verona holds a 22 point margin over Espinasse in Junior 1 class and together with Ruprecht will fight for the podium.

In Junior 2 there is a fierce contest between Francisco and Edmondson going on in the championship points. Currently Francisco holds first place but after sharing wins in Spain with Edmondson the Brit is now only six points behind. The hard-pack terrain in Greece should benefit the Spaniard but could also boost Chilean Ruy Barbosa´s chances.

For the fourth round of the EnduroGP championship the LAMS Motoclub has prepared a 40-kilometre lap around the city of Serres. The circuit of Serres will host Friday night´s Akrapovic Super Test as well as the Maxxis Cross Test. The Technomousse Xtreme Test will be located in the nearby town of Rachovitsa while the Champion Lubricants Enduro Test will be at St Georges, another nearby village. 

The action will kick off at 19:00 EET on Friday with the Akrapovic Super Test.
