2023 Getzenrodeo: HEWC final round entry list & schedule – quick read
Fast facts ahead of the final Hard Enduro World Championship round of 2023, the 24MX Getzenrodeo – event timetable, entry list, race schedule and ticketing information.
The paddock is already beginning to take shape in, as the organisers call it the ‘Getzenwald’ sat deep in east Germany, and riders are already walking the course under the shadow of the impressive Scharfensteiner Castle.
This is the last round of the ’23 Hard Enduro World Championship season and it promises to be a hot one. The intense nature of the Getzenrodeo track has been there from the start. Each year that intensity ramps up with tweaked race format and increased ability for spectators to get right in among the action across two days.
2023 Getzenrodeo schedule
For the fans and the riders, the schedule is important in this year’s expanded Getzen races. Action officially begins at 11am on Friday, November 3 with an open practice session close to the paddock.
The first racing follows from 2pm with two timed laps per rider to determine firstly start order for Saturday’s morning race and secondly the best 16 riders heading to the evening prologue, the Red Bull Double Trouble.
The 16 rider shoot out in this prologue race, on a track that partly passes through the festival tent, sees the top three finishers gaining points towards the HEWC. Remember, Billy Bolt and Trystan Hart are battling for the WC podium places this final weekend and these bonus points could be crucial.
Saturday, the GetzenRodeo Race Day begins at 10am with the 2hr GetzenRace which will see lots of riders on the course and plenty of chaos. It could be a crucial moment for the championship, especially the Junior World Championship, as Pro riders jossle with amatuers on hte short, multi-lap course.
The 20 best riders then reach the final GetzenChamp race, run in the opposite direction to the morning race on the same course (with some alterations) which begins at 2pm. Finish and award ceremony are planned from 3:30pm.
If you like beer, the GetzenNacht festival which follows the prize ceremony might be of interest to you…
