Results from day two of the 2023 Red Bull Romaniacs, a less dramatic day sees the leader board holding steady and Mani Lettenbichler leads comfortably out front and Teo Kabakchiev sneaks the day win.

2023 Romaniacs Off Road Day Two in a nutshell:

  • At over five hours riding on day two in Romania, Mani Lettenbichler had a relatively “easy” time of it leading the race today - certainly everyone to a man and woman needed it easier after yesterday’s horrendous conditions. Day three tomorrow promises to be the hardest of the week so a good night’s sleep is required.
  • The KTM rider was again leading by example on mostly drier tracks today, opening the way for others to follow on a date which “felt like we were going up and down hill a lot” said the KTM Factory Racing rider.
  • After a day where he hardly saw any of his rivals (he was so far ahead on time and on the ground), the German set a 5:05 total time on the day to extend his overall lead to 36 minutes over Trystan Hart.
  • Behind the leader things are tighter with Hart, Billy Bolt, Teo Kabakchiev and Wade Young all jostling for position on the ground and weighing each other up in the classification. Many inside the top 10 clocked around the four and a half hours for the day.
  • After some time adjustments for a dodgy sign, Kabakchiev was the day winner and second to the flag. The Bulgarian finished the day two minutes faster than the race leader.
  • Bolt was third for the day, 15 minutes behind the day winner but 15 minutes to the good of Hart which spices up the battle for the podium at this half way stage.

Hard times on Brokeback Mountain section...

  • Hart, Walkner, Young, Roman and Jarvis were all in close contention and jostling positions further back.
  • Already more than one hour behind the leader, Young and Walkner complete the top five with Kabakchiev clawing back some time for sixth, Jarvis seventh, then Roman, Sonny Goggia and Matty Green, too placed Junior, in P10.
  • “A few problems” for Alfredo Gómez on the Rieju saw the Spaniard not start day two but he says he hopes to carry on, presumably for testing purposes, on day three.
  • Prologue Silver class winner Ben Wibberley topped his time sheets to take over the provisional lead by three minutes from Sergiu Grecu.
  • Pol Tarres put the Yamaha Tenere on top of the bronze class results in day two, moving him to third scratch in class. Jury Schutz still leads by 12 mins from Ovidiu Nistor.
  • The Iron class is led by Robert Adams with 17 mins advantage and the mighty Atom class sees Janis Stauers just a minute to the good in a tight contest.
