On the eve of the 96th edition of the International Six Days of Enduro have announced San Juan, Argentina will host the 2023 ISDE in November – a return to after the World Championship’s season has finished.

Bucking the trend of recent summer ISDEs, organisers of next year’s 97th edition say it will return to Argentina for the first time since 2014 and have confirmed early November, placing it after the EnduroGP World Championship season once again.

Dates?

2023 official dates have been set because there is an upcoming election in Argentina which means they cannot plan until after a new government has been installed. However, when we asked, they told us, “for sure it will be in the first 15 days of November”.

Fast facts

The World Trophy winners last time out in Argentina were the host nation this year, France. Marc Bourgeois, Christophe Nambotin, Piela Renet, Jeremy Tarroux, Anthony Boissiere and Fabien Planet were the official team.

The Junior Trophy went up to North America with Grant Baylor, Steward Baylor, Trevor Bollinger and Justin Jones. While the Australian women were on their role of wins with Jess Gardiner, Tayla Jones and Jemma Wilson taking the honours.

New location for the paddock and tests

If you were in San Juan the last time the ISDE visited Argentina back in 2014 the organisers say you will not recognise the test locations although the dirt and terrain will surely be similar.

The event location is to the west side of San Juan city, again not yet quite official, but everything will be in new locations within the famous wine region hosting the event.

The reality is ISDE France this week is doing something very similar. Le Puy en Velay which is very close to a number of EnduroGPs, French Classic enduro’s like Trefle Lozerien and previous ISDE including Brioude and Mende.

Weather?

There were some random questions in the press conference which came ahead of the 2022 ISDE opening ceremony tonight in Le Puy en Velay town centre. One of them was about the weather 15 months away in a famously dry part of the world.

Anyway, if you want to know please check your favoured weather App and we’re pretty sure it will tell you it is warm and sunny…
