Video highlights of Swedish Winter Cup Enduro series final round – Filip Bengtsson takes five from six wins with no snow this seaons.

The 2020 Winter Cup Östra Skaraborg season has been dominated by Filip Bengtsson winning five of the six races. Norwegian Even Heibye was the only rider to run Bengtsson close competing two races and taking a win and a second place.

Bengtsson (winner of the 2019 Gotland Grand National and 2018/2019 Swedish motocross champion) also had Swedish champion Micke Persson, Oskar Ljungström and Rikard Hansson for company across the season.

Many of the winter competitions across Sweden have been cancelled due to rain this season where the country is used to seeing snow. The Winter Cup racing courses have hit it lucky running under perfect conditions.

The Winter Cup Östra Skaraborg has been running since the early 1980s, growing every year and attracting between 500 to 600 riders for each race in the 2020 season. In total, 850 riders of Senior, Junior, Women, two youth classes and five hobby classes.

The series runs a two enduro test format (of about 10-12 minutes run over about 1.5 hours. The Swedish World competition in Skövde later this year was one of the organizers.

Skaraborg lies between the two large lakes Vänern and Vättern and is where the six races take place just a few miles apart. Skaraborg also has a genuine association with enduro in Sweden with big names such as Svenerik Jönsson, Anders Eriksson (he still runs in the senior class), Kent Karlsson, Peter Hansson and Thomas Gustavsson all being local riders. In Six Days 2018, all of the Swedish World Team were from this district.
