Quick Look: 2023-2024 KTM, Husqvarna & GASGAS Connectivity Units
Easy-install, “doorway to next-level riding” Connectivity Unit Offroad (CUO) units are now a retrofit option for all 2023 and 2024 KTM, Husqvarna and GASGAS MX and XC four-stroke models.
On the back of positive reactions to the recent launch of the 2024 KTM 450 SX-F and 250 SX-F Factory Editions, KTM has made the Connectivity Unit Offroad (CUO) available as a PowerPart across 2023 and 2024 SX-F and XC-F models as well as equivalent GASGAS and Husqvaran 4T MX and XC models.
Claiming easy-install, durability of the hardware and ease-of-use, KTM say the CUO is “the doorway to next-level riding” – we say it just opens doors to let you explore better riding. The CUO was one of the main features of the 2024 Factory Editions which Enduro21 took a look at here.
The CUO is a two-part system mounted between the right fork leg and the GPS component on the redesigned front fender. Using the RIDER section of the (free) KTMConnect App on your phone, you can fully customise your XC-F/SX-F engine characteristics from the menu. You can opt for ‘prime’ (toggling levels of Traction Control) or ‘advanced’ settings (engine braking, throttle response, traction control and launch control) as well as engaging the Quickshifter.
There are presets for specific track types with sand, gravel, hard pack and dry and wet parameters meaning you can quickly tune to a particular riding session, skill level or fitness. There is also a default option to return the engine mapping to its original state.
We particularly like the ‘sag assistant’ and ‘suspension settings’ tabs on KTMConnect which gives recommendations and suggestions based on weight and skill set and with the type of track or weather conditions. It’s making the bike set-up easier that’s for sure.
If you’re even more serious the optional (additional subscription is required) ‘rider’ tab breaks down the numbers lap-by-lap and gives information on each session: speed, acceleration, deceleration, average speed, g-force, air-time, jump height, gearing, RPM, throttle position, water temperature, traction control, maps switch mode and more, calculations are made to show a rider’s trajectory and analytics to perfect the ideal course and batter the chrono.
It's a hit too far for us but the option to overlay what you;;re doing on the track is pretty cool even for the shits and giggles of seeing how soft you really are on the throttle.
RRP from authorised dealers is: $249.99/£216.60 (complete kit as shown above)
