With the opening round of the 2021 FIM Hard Enduro World Championship (HEWC) at Extreme XL Lagares in Portugal just over one month away, riders are being urged to register if they want to score points in the series.

Whether you are a professional or amateur rider, the HEWC organisers say you still need to register with them (not just enter the specific event) to ensure your points are counted. Those all-important points count all season and can determine your number and start position at following rounds, so get on it if that matters to you.

HEWC also organisers say the process takes about three minutes and is not difficult but you will need an FIM International licence.

Notes of interest for riders entering HEWC events:

  • You need an FIM International Enduro licence to register. You get these from your national federation. A list of 2021 FIM-affiliated federations can be found here.
  • You can register at any stage in the season, but points will only count from then on for the subsequent races competed.
  • Riders must also register for each individual event directly with the relevant organiser and Championship registration does NOT automatically enter riders for each round of the series.
  • For those needing travel assistance in line with COVID-19 regulations, official letters of championship confirmation can be provided.
