Sherco Factory Racing announce Bulgarian Teodor Kabakchiev into the Sherco family to race the Hard Enduro World Championship alongside Mario Roman.

As one of the few to take podium places off the top factory riders in the Hard Enduro World Championship in the last few seasons, Teodor Kabakchiev has certainly earned his stripes.

All that effort as a privateer has paid off with Sherco scooping up the Bulgarian into the factory racing team alongside Mario Roman competing in the FIM Hard Enduro World Championship and international extreme and hard enduro races.

Jordan Curvalle, Sherco Factory Racing Team Manager: “I am very happy to welcome Teo to the team; he is a promising young talent in the world of HardEnduro. He has been mixing it up with the top contenders for the past two seasons. We will strive to mentor and support and help him pursue victories.”

Kabakchiev first started to make a name for himself with strong results at the Red Bull Romaniacs only as recently as three years ago. He’s since grown to become a podium contender in HEWC races with a career best result of second place at both Xross in Serbia and the ’22 Romaniacs.

Teo is also well travelled, thanks to support from Bulgarian sponsors, and has earned a reputation as a rider not afraid to put in the miles to race around the world including American Hard Enduro races.

Teodor Kabakchiev says: “I am very happy. I believe that this is a next step for progression. The Sherco Factory Racing Team is full of people obsessed with bikes. We have a lot in common. I love that! Our goal is to bring the Sherco blue to the top of the sport.”

Teo and Sherco will make their joint major race debut at the Ales Trem Extreme Enduro in France on January 27-28.

Naturally that leaves open one question which has been hovering about the hard enduro world for a few weeks now: what’s happening with Wade Young? The South African just won a record eighth Roof of Africa Hard Enduro but it was made clear to Enduro21 that it was likely to be his final major event on the factory-backed Sherco machines...
