The 2020 Cross-Country Rallies World Championship has been reduced to just three rounds – Kazakhstan, Morocco and Abu Dhabi – following the withdrawal of the Sertões Rally from the calendar.

Due to the ongoing coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic and the associated travel restrictions, the Sertões Rally originally scheduled for August 14-23 has had to be postponed until November and dropped from the 2020 FIM Cross-Country Rallies World Championship calendar.

Revised, three round 2020 calendar

  • Rally Kazakhstan, September 14-20
  • Rallye du Maroc, October 9-14
  • Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge, November 20-26

The FIM say the condensed nature of the 2020 calendar and limited time between the Rally of Morocco and the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge, plus the logistical issues, means they and the local organisers have decided that it will be in the best interest of all parties if the Sertões Rallye is withdrawn from the 2020 FIM Cross-Country Rallies World Championship.

The Sertões Rally will be back in the calendar and will take place next summer; the exact dates will be confirmed at a later stage.
