Quick look at the details behind the LS2 X-Force Carbon, “the first off-road helmet to achieve FIM-2 homologation”, the new international standard for Motocross, Enduro, Speedway and Cross-Country Championships.

Standing on top of the LS2 off-road helmet range, the 2024 X-Force is making big noises for itself, loud enough for us to take a closer look at the details.

Chief among them are the four carbon shell size options and the fact it goes big on meeting new international racing safety standards from the FIM. Add in there also features like its own hydration kit, an emergency release system, full venting and removable and washable lining in the spec sheet.

LS2 X-Force Carbon details:

Full Carbon Shell

Made from 100% high grade twill weave carbon fibre, the shell is produced in four external sizes, to keep size and weight to a minimum - the X-Force weighs a claimed 1200g.

There are different carbon weave options with the regular LS2 X-Force having a 6K weave (most manufacturers only use 3k) and for the FIM-approved version of the X-Force, LS2 use a 9K weave.

The FIM option is more expensive than the regular version, partly due to the process the manufacturer has to go through to get the approval.

Adjustable and Flexible Peaks

The peak can be extended and adjusted up and down to suit the conditions. A flexible and shatterproof peak is also supplied as standard can be fitted easily.

Full Venting and On-Board Hydration Kit

Seriously cool in every sense LS2 say, the X-Force has multiple top vents channelling air through the EPS liner and out via exhausts at the rear.

There’s also a built-in Hydration Kit, allowing the wearer to keep fluids topped up on the move. NB: Unfortunately the press information does not include images of the hydration system.

Removable and Washable Liner

A perforated sponge-foam inner and full mesh liner work to remove moisture and heat from the inside when you’re working hard while riding. As you’d expect, the liner is fully removable and washable.

ERS and Double D-Ring Fastening

The X-Force fastens with a double d-ring and reinforced strap anchored to the shell with LS2’s unique metal security plate.

There’s also an emergency release system which allows first responders to safely pull-out the cheek pads for less intrusive helmet removal.

Approved for street use

The X-Force also meets or exceeds DOT FMVSS 218 and ECE 22.06 homologation which makes it legal to use on the road. In the UK it comes as ACU Gold approved.

The X-Force also comes complete with that extra flexible peak, a hydration tube, and a backpack for easy carrying and storage.

Colours: The LS2 X-Force is available in a solid carbon finish three graphic options

Sizes: XS/S/M/L/XL/2XL
