2023 Hixpania Hard Enduro World Championship round five qualifying results sees Billy Bolt claim the win ahead of Wade Young and Mani Lettenbichler as Hart and Kabakchiev are docked penalties.

Billy Bolt took a determined victory in today’s qualification race at the 2023 Hixpania Hard Enduro, the Campoo Xtreme race which effectively is all about start position tomorrow although somepoints were up for grabs for the leading three riders.

After claiming victory in the pointless (literally) SuperEnduro-style races yesterday afternoon, the Husqvarna Racing rider set-off on the tail of championship points leader Lettenbichler but took on the race lead in the first of the tough Gold class sections.

The HEWC riders faced a two-hour, two lap race around the rocky and dry course with harder sections thrown in distinct from the amateur racers’ course.

Bolt went on to claim the win, one minute and a half ahead of second placed Wade Young having a good result ahead of Lettenbichler who was a further minute down.

Those three score 3-2-1 points respectively for this quali results and Bolt will have the pole position exiting the infamous cave start tomorrow’s main race around the lake Campoo.

“I had good battle with Mani and Wade for just about all of the race.” Explained Bolt. “My initial plan was to follow Mani for the first lap but the dust was just was so bad it was better to be out front so I passed him in the first gold section and was in the lead from then until the end. To stay in the lead for so long, pretty much two hours, and not make any mistakes because I knew Wade is really strong in those kind of conditions and Mnai, I’m pretty happy with that.

“I felt good today, the best I've felt in quite a while to be honest so I’m happy with everything excited for tomorrow and we'll see what happens.”

A footnote to today’s qualification race is two of the major championship riders, Trystan Hart and Teo Kabachiev, made course errors and missed out a section of the track. The result is a 45-minute penalty onto their times, dropping them right down the order to P20 and P24 respectively which will be their start position tomorrow also.
